Hinter Dem Fenster

Behind the Window
One Sunday in November, everything was over
They brought me the news you will never come home
A car in the rain suddenly took away the meaning of my life
Tearless and sad, I got on the train
To finally forget what I can never forget
Drove up to Scotland into the solitude of wild moors
Room available at an ancient portico on the lake
I went over and wanted to knock, but my heart almost stopped
Behind the window I saw you
One of the shadows and your face
And your voice from somewhere
Called my name
Behind the window you waved
Through blind windows to me tenderly
As if you wanted to say
Believe me
I am still with you
Silent with wild fear, I knocked on the door
But an old man said kindly to me
Please come in, I've been living here alone for a long time
A small room is still available for guests
My son lived here, but that is over now
Eleven years ago it happened, it was a Sunday in November
He went away to see the big city in Glasgow
But a car came too fast through the rain and it happened
Behind the window I saw you
One of the shadows and your face
And your voice from somewhere
Called my name
Behind the window you waved
Through blind windows to me tenderly
As if you wanted to say
Believe me
I am still with you
Behind the window I saw you
One of the shadows and your face
And your voice from somewhere
Called my name
Behind the window you waved
Through blind windows to me tenderly
As if you wanted to say
Believe me
I am still with you
Behind the window I saw you
One of the shadows and your face
And your voice from somewhere
Called my name
