Durch Meine Finger Rinnt Die Zeit
Claudia Jung
Time Is Slipping Through My Fingers
In the morning she takes her bag and goes to school
Waves up again in thought already quite far
When I don't see her anymore I fight back tears
Then there is so much sadness in me
Then I think at some point she will leave forever
She already lives in her own world
When we laugh together I sometimes think how much I like her
And time slips through my fingers
If only I could hold on to the days and moments
But time is slipping through my fingers
Tomorrow is already past today
I know soon she will be a woman and I will be gray
Because time is slipping through my fingers
In the morning I sit next to her and she eats her breakfast
Not yet fully awake, we often hardly exchange a word
As soon as she's gone I feel sorry and guilty
Another moment lost and gone
I wanted to do so many things with her
Go to the seaside, go hiking in the mountains
(Go hiking in the mountains)
But somehow something usually came up
Today I can't understand
Because time is slipping through my fingers
If only I could hold on to the days and moments
But time is slipping through my fingers
Tomorrow is already past today
I know soon she will be a woman and I will be gray
Because time is slipping through my fingers
I wish the film of life would stop
Hope is in vain because time (runs through my fingers)
Because time is slipping through my fingers
Because time is slipping through my fingers
