Love comes with sacrifice
Like me writing without beats
In theory, I exist for everyone
But today my poetry is my only practice

I'm a prodigy, the prodigal son
I stay stoic
In the face of misfortune, I stay harmonious
The world is a zoo
I hope this passes soon
What used to be funny now feels uncomfortable
They aren't, and neither am I

I've always been a champion in my own way
I always move forward, convinced
I won't throw in the towel
I'm from Mexico, Hermosillo, and Guadalajara
If this is mine
I learn to forgive
But forgetting weighs on me and I distrust
There's no plan or clue, it's time to learn
I want to see you beyond what everyone else can see
The drawings on your skin
Maybe the art on the wall
I'm the kisses I gave you
I'm your honey-flavored lips too

Head held high for my son
I'm a father, I'm a son
Paradox and riddle
I have to hold steady
I have a great destiny because grandma predicted it
If I feel like the goat, it's because Dani told me so
I'm the five because Carlos has always been the fifth
I prefer beer, she likes red wine
Family, my team

They think I'm a poet when I feel in danger
If they only knew it's for her that I keep saving her
Ding-dong sounds, I live in a limbo
I didn't come to educate them
Plan B was never to avoid them
The hard part isn't judging or blaming for trying
You gotta feel to connect, dude
