Oração de Verdade

Prayer isn't just a bunch of words
Or a time to talk where I speak to God
Prayer isn't a list of requests
Where I lay out my dreams, just focused on me
Prayer isn't just a shout into the void
Where someone kneeling claims what’s theirs
Prayer goes way beyond all that
It's a connection to the infinite that Jesus gave me

Prayer is a door that opens
Inside eternity in God's room
Prayer is a treasure map
That reveals deep secrets of heaven
Prayer is access to heaven granted
But if I don’t understand, I can’t get in
Prayer is a key just for the child
And that’s why it starts like this: Our Father

Our Father who art in heaven
Holy is Your name
Thy kingdom come to us
Thy will be done here on Earth as it is
In heaven

And that’s why I pray, cry, and worship
And the more I pray, the more my ego dies
I’m just human, living in this realm
But I’ve received power to access heaven
And that’s why I pray, leap for joy
And the more I pray, the less I want to ask
Because only in prayer do I realize that
My need is to stay here, in Your presence
In Your presence, in Your presence, ah, Your presence
