O Exilado

From the beautiful homeland I am far away
I am tired
I miss Jesus
Oh, when will I go?

Birds, beautiful flowers
Want to enchant me
Earthly splendors are in vain
But I contemplate my home

Jesus gave me His promise
He will come for me
My heart is in a hurry
I want to fly now

My sins were many
I am very guilty
But His blood cleanses me
I am going to my homeland

Like a child from his beloved home
I want to go like a bird to its nest
To flee to His arms

He is faithful! His coming is certain
When... I do not know
But he commands to be alert
From exile I will return

I await His coming singing
My home is heaven
I will hear His steps sounding
Beyond the dark veil
