The Many Blessings
If in life the stormy waves are,
If, with discouragement, you judge everything vain,
Count the many blessings, say them all at once,
And you will see, surprised, how much God has already done.

Received from the divine hand
Come and tell them all at once,

Do you have sorrows, is your work sad?
Is the cross heavy that you have to bear?
Count the many blessings! Soon you will rejoice,
And, strengthened, you will overcome everything!
When you see others with their gold and goods,
Remember that you have promised treasures.
Never can the goods of the earth buy
The heavenly mansion you will inhabit.
Whether your battle is long or brief here,
Do not be discouraged, God will be with you!
His divine help alleviating the evil,
Will give you comfort and final reward.
