I love the Lord because he listens
To the cry of my pleas
Because he inclines his ear towards me
When I call upon him
The cords of death entangled me
The snares of the abyss reached me
I fell into distress and sadness
I called upon the Lord, save me

The Lord is just and kind
Our God is compassionate
The Lord protects the humble
I was in misery and he saved me
My soul, regain calm
Because God has been good to you
He delivered my life from death
From tears and falls

I had confidence when I said
How great is my misfortune
How will I repay the Lord
For all the good he did to me?
I will lift the cup of salvation
I will invoke the name of the Lord
I will fulfill my vows to the Lord
