Family is not chosen, but friendships are chosen
I have family friends and blood enemies
Some are sons of their bosses and others of their damn mothers

I don't use fingers on my hands to count my friendships
I count them by their actions and I will never fail them

You won't hear any envy from me, not even as a joke

If a tree provides good shade, there's no need to cut its branches

I have family friends and family that doesn't speak to me
Some get upset over little, others get stuck with a lot
Only when they need something do they know how to come to my house
