In the obedience of a yes the Light arose
Mary and John, chosen by Love’s own decree
Mary brought us Jesus, our Savior and Lord
John proclaimed Him Lamb, the perfect sacrifice
Mary answered in faith and praise
Let it be to me according to Your Love
Her womb became the dwelling of the Light
The Son of God came forth to shine in our night
John cried in the desert for hearts to repent
Prepare the way, make straight the path of the Lord
With renunciation and humble trust
We ready the people for promises assured
