Despedida

1.
I come to say goodbye to the boys
because soon I'm going to war
and even though I'll fight in other lands
I will defend my right, my country, and my faith.

I already said goodbye to my beloved
and asked her by GOD to never cry
to always remember my loves
that I will never forget her.

It breaks my heart and condemns me
that I leave my mom so alone
my poor little mother who is alive
who will remember her in my absence.

1. Who will do her a favor if she needs it
who will help her if she gets sick
who will talk about me if she asks
with this beloved son, maybe she'll return

2. Who will pray for her if she dies
who will put flowers on her grave
who will sympathize with my bitterness
if I return and don't find my mom.
