Everybody Likes / Silver Moon
Everybody likes
Everybody bets
I already know the answer that my mom will give
My kid's a beast
I bought him a guitar so he can learn
He'll be a musician when he grows up
Engineering doesn't cut it, and why be a dentist?
To see bridges crack, to feel the toothache
I’ll make him study, so he can read and write
Just to create poetry, make a rhyme and let the samba heat up
Being a driver doesn't cut it, and why be a cook?
Just to take and bring, seasoning for others to eat
For my kid not to mess up, I’m the one who’ll choose
He'll be a musician when he grows up
When a silver moon shines in the yard
I give myself completely
I don’t need anything else
I don’t need money, just a tuned guitar
A tambourine and a good pandeiro
To keep the rhythm going
And a whole bunch of musicians on this moonlit night
This round moon lights up the samba circle (the samba)
This starry sky next to the moon that only gives (come samba)
A pretty girl shaking her hips, raising dust through the night
And a whole bunch of musicians on this moonlit night
In this hot rhythm that takes us to the moon (to the moon)
It lights up the universe and brings a verse to the moon (to the moon)
And because the night is young, we dance and sing without a set time
And a whole bunch of musicians on this moonlit night
The pretty girl swaying sweetly with the scent of roses in the starry night
And a whole bunch of musicians on this moonlit night
The surdo marking, the guitar crying, and the banjo showing it’s in the game
And a whole bunch of musicians on this moonlit night
