Io Sono

Arisa Arisa

I Am

The alarm goes off at seven, then
I make myself lunch because
I never eat at home
And even my boyfriend
Slams around like crazy
He says stay calm and go
Because sometimes I give in and
Sometimes I don't believe it, it seems
All a lie
But I believe in certain dreams that
Are needs
And fill my life

And when we plan
The evening with a drink
And a laugh in good company
I realize that I need little
That all this life
Is a big game

I am a woman
Who believes in love
Who wants her man
Only for herself I want
To be a mother because
My mom is the
Most beautiful thing there is I
Like Christmas, Sunday
At the beach, then getting up from
The table around three
Because the family to me
Amazes me, catches me
I would like to have one of my own.

My generation if
Waiting for retirement may
It never comes
With the mortgage you'll stay under
Then there's rent for a
Lifetime you'll pay
But I don't pity myself
And I accept the compromise
I enjoy everything I have
Because life is a gift
And I believe in the good of what
I have done and will do

And so friends you can't
Give up, I will continue to
Dream of a house that
Has a little balcony
With plants and a nice
Big cooking corner

I am a woman
Who believes in love
Who wants her man
Only for herself I want
To be a mother because
My mom is the
Most beautiful thing there is I
Like Christmas, Sunday
At the beach, then getting up from
The table around three
Because the family to me
Amazes me, catches me
I would like to have one of my own.
