La Mula Chula

I was eating a taco
in that town of Tula
when well seated
a girl on her mule passed by.

Quickly dropping the taco
I said good afternoon, cool
and she answered smiling:
are you referring to me or the mule.

Of course I mean you
don't be so stubborn, cool
unless you feel
less cool than the mule.

What a cool mule,
and what a mule so cool
I won't go back
to that town of Tula.

Now when I see
any girl
riding a mule
I don't even jokingly
respectfully say
good afternoon cool.

Because it reminds me
of what they told me
one afternoon in Tula
that if I greeted
a cool mule
or a mule cool.
