Bom Samaritano

Good Samaritan

Let me compose a hymn for you
I don't know how you got here
One day a certain man was robbed
They beat him until he fell to the ground
And while he bled, a citizen passed by
He was a priest, pretended not to see him
He was in a hurry, had priorities
But lacked love, that's the truth

In the same place will pass a Levite
Maybe he sang a song to God
Saying: I love you above all
But as himself, he did not love his neighbor
He did the same thing as the priest
Had no remedy to heal the pain
With empty hands he continued
And someone lying on the ground remained

In the same place the good Samaritan comes
I don't know the name of his religion
I don't know how he sang, if he prayed very well
I just know that his hands were busy
Inside him there was much compassion
Breaking protocols, he approached
The wounded man, he went down to the ground
Feel him there touching your hands

He poured oil, wine on your wounds
Stopped your blood and lifted you up
He made your life his essence
The good Samaritan took care of you
He didn't look at your appearance
Nor what you had to offer
No matter if there's someone fallen here
The good Samaritan will appear

You are the mirror that reflects the image of the Lord
Don't cry if the world hasn't noticed yet
It's enough that God recognizes your worth
You are precious, rarer than pure gold from Ophir
If you gave up, God won't give up
He is here to lift you up
