L'Envol

In the evening I imagine myself
Joining in full flight
The supernatural cohort
Of immense birds of paradise
Sailing in unison
Under vaults of placid waters
That undulate slowly
In the tumult of the night

Alone with my dearest memories
The soul finally vibrant and liberated
Far away
From the surface of the Earth

Sometimes I have this strange dream
Where I join
The impassive procession
That we see fleeing under drapes
Of translucent waves
Letting escape
The pale lights of day
And at nightfall those
Distant lights of exiled stars

For a moment I have abandoned
This burdened body
Always carrying me pain
For the remnants
Of a vanishing Elsewhere
And for my waking dreams
