Ella Hace Los Deberes
Agualoca
She Does Her Homework
She wakes up to a ray of light peeking through the keyhole
It's a beam of sunlight that slowly slides down to her face
She eats poorly, but it's all good
She loves watching Lunch with Mirtha Legrand, and she adores TV
Mom went to work, today she’s in Liniers
The family house is always an hour away on Route 3
(La-la-la)
She plays mom to her six-year-old sister
She makes powdered milk with brewed mate
Or mixed with tea
Responsibility, she heads to the corner store
With the shopping list, she brings back a quarter loaf of bread, and does her homework
The homework, she does her homework
Her break is during school hours
(La-la-la)
And when it rains hard, the room turns to mud
She puts down some bricks, making a path to the hallway and the bathroom
And they lift their feet, stay in bed
The worst is when the power goes out, they fall asleep all bored
The happiest hour, and also the toughest
Is when mom comes back exhausted and the chores weren’t done
And she fell for a guy who sings on channel two
And out of excitement, a tear rolls down on Saturdays
When his song plays
The homework, she does her homework
Her break is during school hours
The homework, she does her homework, she does
Her break is during school hours
(La-la-la)
