The cat is a little machine
that nature invented;
has fur, whiskers, claws
and inside has an engine.

But a different engine
from those in toys
because the cat's engine
is not an electric motor.

It's an affectionate engine
that beats in its heart
that's why it purrs
to show gratitude.

In the past it was said
that this sweet purr
was the cause of allergies
for those who suffered from coughs.

All nonsense, spite,
slanders against the little animal:
this purr in its chest
is not a disease - it's affection
