On Mount Calvary Stood A Cross
On Mount Calvary there was a cross
Emblem of shame and pain
But I love that cross where my Jesus died
To save the vilest sinner
On the cross of Jesus his blood was shed
I contemplate unparalleled beauty
For in it he triumphantly conquered death
And my being can sanctify
Oh, I will always love that cross
In his triumphs my glory will be
And one day instead of a cross
My crown Jesus will give me
On the cross you suffered my pain

Although the world despises the cross of Jesus
For me it has great attraction
