Shaffer Chimere Smith, professionally known as Ne-Yo, is an American singer, songwriter, actor, dancer, and record producer. Born on October 18, 1979, he rose to prominence in the mid-2000s and is considered one of the leading figures of R&B music during that decade. His breakthrough came in 2004 with the hit single "Let Me Love You," which he wrote for Mario.
